A festival of Nine Lessons and Carols – Friday December 22nd at 8pm in the old-catholic Sint VItus church, Melkpad 12, Hilversum. The old English tradition of having a festival of nine lessons and carols close to Christmas Eve has also become part of the traditions of the local old-catholic church in Hilversum. Each Wednesday the parish choir has its rehearsal time. For this festive occasion they are joined by a number of enthusiastic guest singers. The choir’s director is Gerard de Ridder and Bart Klijnsmit will be playing the organ. The opening carol will of course be ‘Once in Royal David’s city’. Both the carols and the lessons will be in English on this evening.
